Hi, I’m Liv!
What is a labor doula?
Labor doulas provide support of all kinds. While midwives typically focus on the baby and the birther's physical health, labor doulas focus on the birther/parents' emotional health. We work with your birthing team to help ensure that you know how to advocate for yourself, are comfortable with the birthing process, and have answers to all your questions. Labor is an increasingly medicalized process, so we are here to make sure your humanity is recentered.
My Mission
As your doula, I am eager to share the resources necessary to keep your fears at bay. I am your sounding board for both your fears and joys. When your friends are tired of hearing about it, let's talk babies! When you're tired of being asked about it, let's talk anything else! You will have a full birthing staff focused on the life of your baby; I am here to be the person solely focused on your life as the birther.
I now have a bachelor's of arts in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies with a concentration in Social Change and a minor in Public Policy. I am currently working towards my master's degree at Georgia State University, ensuring that I have the most up-to-date education available. Furthermore, I am trained as a labor doula through ProDoula.
About Me
My interest in doula work began at a young age. Growing up, I continually felt let down by my sex education courses and the doctors I saw. No one seemed to have answers to the questions I had as I grew into my body and sexuality, and I felt judged. I went into college in pursuit of gynecology, but switched courses as I learned about doula work. I want to be that person to answer people’s questions and give them the support they need as face new and vulnerable experiences.

Outside of doula work, I carry a great passion for sex education reform. Otherwise, I spend my free time with my orange tabby cat (named Willie Nelson), or hanging out at the park. I also play piano, do pottery, and write!
So, how does this work?
Send me a message and I will get back to you ASAP! We will call/message to set up a consultation where we will discuss all the things you're looking for. After signing together, I will be on-call as your right-hand-man throughout your pregnancy and birth process. You can message me anytime with questions, concerns, excitement, etc. We will have at least one prenatal and postpartum visit together, and I can attend appointments with you as much or as little as you like. I will attend your birth, being by your side to answer your questions, help you get comfortable, ensure you are heard by the rest of your birthing team, translate medical jargon, etc. Furthermore, I can help connect you with other resources such as post-partum doulas, placenta specialists, etc. If applicable, your partner(s) are more than welcome to use any of this support as much or as little as you like!
